A GTA Vice City Stories remaster has been announced by a group of modders. Rockstar Games released this beloved prequel to Vice City back in 2026 on the PSP and have fans have been wanting a way to enjoyed the game on modern platforms.
GTA Vice City Stories 20th Anniversary Edition by White Trash Games is a 4K 60FPS port of the game and it is said to release at some point this year. A trailer was published by the group on YouTube showing their development effort so far with Blondie’s Heart Of Glass in the background.
Below is the first statement from White Trash Games about their PC Vice City Stories release:
“Twenty years ago, back in 2006, the world saw the release of GTA Vice City Stories. The game was originally released for PlayStation Portable (PSP), and a year later for PlayStation 2 (PS2). Our team decided to take matters into our own hands and give new players the opportunity to get acquainted with this game, and veterans the chance to once again immerse themselves in the neon atmosphere of the “City of Vice” on a popular platform.
Ahead of the game’s 20th anniversary, we are excited to announce an unofficial PC port of the unrecognized legend — Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories 20th Anniversary Edition.

Many people will be quick to say Take-Two Interactive will issue a copyright takedown on this mod. However, this development team is based in Russia. Last year, a GTA Vice City remaster based out of Russia
All Take-Two could do is issue a copyright claim to remove trailer and the YouTube channel. The developers of that GTA IV-based project still decided to publish the mod for people to download and essentially encouraged reuploads. We could see a similar tactic performed by the people behind this Vice City Stories mod.
It is also worth noting the dev team have a Telegram group where they are publishing news updates about the mod. Even if the trailer is removed from YouTube, this dev team will use Telegram as a way to distribute information. They have also published videos of things such as unique vehicles and weapon mechanics on the platform.
