GTA V and GTA Online have been confirmed to be leaving Xbox Game Pass once again. Following a few previous stints, Rockstar put the blockbuster back into Microsoft’s subscription service in April 2025 to coincide with the PC Enhanced release.
Fans have been able to play Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online without owning the game digitally. This included the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and cloud versions of Grand Theft Auto V.
Not only were console subscribers treated to the game but the new Enhanced version joined the service on PC. Even support for the Game Pass versions on PC were added to FiveM days after entering Microsoft’s subscription service.
Whilst Xbox have not published anything to their blog about GTA V leaving, the game is part of the Xbox App’s “Leaving Soon” section for Xbox Game Pass. The date given is April 15th. Xbox Game Pass discounts the game by 20% so before it leaves you can purchase it digitally a little bit cheaper.
What’s surprising is how long GTA V remained in Game Pass this time around. Every time Rockstar have placed GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2 or any other title in a Xbox or PlayStation subscription service it has been for a maximum of 6 months. However, this Xbox Game Pass stint has been 12 months with it coming in on April 15th 2025 and leaving on April 15th 2026.
How much it costs for Xbox to get GTA V on Game Pass?

In September 2023, a major Xbox leak revealed how much the company expects to pay to get Rockstar’s game on Game Pass. Microsoft also noted they would expect Take-Two to ask for around $12 to $15 million a month to be on Game Pass for approximately 30 million hours of time played in the game.
