GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 continue to do battle with plenty of newer game releases and other older titles that have blown up again. We’ve just received the chart data for May 2024.
It paints a good picture for both Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto V compared to April. They had a record breaking year last year which is a tough act to follow.
PlayStation downloads continue

PlayStation released their monthly game charts for PS5, PS4, PSVR and F2P games this week. GTA V maintained second place in the European chart for a second month. As for the North American chart, it has gone from 6th in April to 5th.
As for the PS4 charts, it dropped a few places. In April, GTA V was in 7th place for Europe but it moved to 10th. In the United States of America and Canada chart, it slipped from 9th to 12th.
Red Dead Redemption 2 maintains strong downloads
Red Dead Redemption 2 was the most second PS4 downloaded game in the US/Canada once again. This is now two months in a row. It also maintained it’s third place in the chart for Europe. Minecraft took first place in both charts.

UK charts go up
The monthly UK games charts are in for May. According to the data given out by GSD via gamesindustry.biz, GTA V was the 3rd best selling game when all disc and digital sales were combined. This is up from 5th position. Red Dead Redemption 2 meanwhile exited the top 10.
