You Can Now Migrate Your GTA V PC Saves To The Enhanced Version And Here’s How

Ahead of the eagerly-awaited next-gen version of GTA V (GTA V Enhanced) and GTA Online for PC next week, Rockstar Games have enabled progression migration. We’ll be taking a look at the ins and outs plus how to successfully bring over your progress.

Last week, Rockstar Games announced GTA V Enhanced is coming to PC bringing a wealth of new features, content, graphics settings and more on Tuesday March 4th. They also confirmed this new release is free to all owners of GTA V on PC already complete with Story Mode and GTA Online data migration.

Much like when GTA V first came to PC in 2015, players can now begin transferring their progress ahead of the new release. This was first spotted by GTA Forums user Spider-Vice who shared that GTA V’s Story Mode saves are now able to be uploaded to Rockstar’s systems ready to be used in the new version. This is a PC to PC transfer so no console to new PC version saving.

How To Migrate Your GTA V Saves

To upload your saves, start by opening the pause menu in-game. From there, select the Game submenu tab. In the list of options, select the Upload Save Game option.

Select any of the save you wish to upload. Only 1 save can be migrated over.

A warning will appear tell you only 1 save can be uploaded and that if you pick another at some point to upload it will overwrite the one stored for migration.

Proceeding will start the migration process which should take just a few seconds. You’ll then see a screen that tells you the save has been successfully uploaded. You can download your save game when you start GTA V Enhanced.

When GTA V Enhanced comes outl, you can download it via the same steps as the previous steps: Pause game then Game menu then select Download Save Game menu.

If you revisit the Upload Save Game screen in GTA V Legacy (the old PC version of GTA V), you’ll see which file has been uploaded so far.

As for your GTA Online characters, you’ll be able to select them from when you first load into GTAO in the new version.
