GTA Trilogy Remasters now included in GTA Online subscription service

Rockstar Games have announced Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is now part of GTA+. The long rumoured perk has finally arrived as part of the ever-growing $5 a month package. Back in June we reported GTA San Andreas on mobile got an update which contained GTA+ files. A survey was also sent out to GTA Online in November 2022 asking if they’d like free access to classic Rockstar titles.

New perk for members is finally here

In a Tweet on Thursday, the studio revealed a new perk for GTA Online’s monthly subscription service. Rockstar say GTA+ will feature “a rotating assortment of classic Rockstar Games titles”. The first 3 games to be in rotation are the Definitive Edition versions of GTA III, GTA Vice City and GTA San Andreas.

According to the GTA+ website, GTA+ members will have “Unlimited access for as long as the game is included in GTA+ and you are a GTA+ member.” The game publisher have not provided a date for when the GTA Trilogy will leave GTA+. Given that We’re a week through this month’s GTA+ offering, we can speculate it won’t leave in 3 weeks when a new GTA+ month releases.

It could be around for a couple of months before other classic Rockstar titles replace the 3 games. Once Rockstar communicate when the games leave and what games will replace them officially, we’ll cover it right here at RockstarINTEL. We do wonder what games will feature, Red Dead Redemption? GTA IV? Bully?

If you wish to own the remasters for yourself outside of GTA+, Rockstar are offering a 20% discount for the game on your GTA+ platform. This means you can buy them outright so you’ll still have access when you leave GTA+ or the games leave GTA+’s perks.

How to get the GTA Trilogy with GTA+

GTA+ is currently only available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This means if you have GTA+ on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S you’ll have access to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on your respective platform. You can download the trilogy of games with this link and steps below.

    1. On this page, click the console platform button where you have an active GTA+ membership or find the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition on the console store.
    2. Ensure you are logged into the console account you used to purchase your GTA+ membership.
    3. Click the “Install with GTA+” or “GTA+ Download” button to download and play your game.

Rockstar leaves traces of mobile version inclusions

Rockstar Games have updated the product description of GTA+ on Xbox to note “*Compatible device, and internet connection required. Social Club Account and linked platform account with active GTA+ subscription required for access to iOS and Android games.” This was spotted by @FriendlyAaron1

On top of that, Rockstar have added logos for the App Store and Google play to their GTA+ webpage. This is only on the backend and have not been publicly enabled yet. The iOS and Android versions of the GTA Trilogy are yet to be released.

This was spotted by InfinityBesk and seems to confirm Rockstar will introduce a way to link your GTA+ membership on PS5 or Xbox with your mobile device to access mobile games such as the upcoming GTA Trilogy release and classics already on the 2 leading app stores.

You can check out the full list of perks included in GTA+ this month here. Stay tuned to RockstarINTEL for more news on GTA Online.
