GTA Online’s big summer update is just a matter of days away but Rockstar Games still have not openly come out and given us a confirmed date. However, what Rockstar have done is given us all of the clues to arrive at a date that the update will release on. They have all but said the date.
Plus, a mistake on their end has revealed an additional small detail on a location for the upcoming content. We’ll get into all of that and more below.
Working out the release date
On June 5th, Rockstar Games shared new details on what is coming to GTA Online as part of the summer update. They did not specify a release date but did note the patch would release “later this month”. This was previously “next month” before a swift update to their blogpost. So, we know the update is releasing in June but when exactly?
In their same article, Rockstar reiterated that the previously announced Överflöd Pipistrello super car will be free for all GTA+ Members. It was also confirmed t be available the update’s release day. (Non-GTA+ members will have to wait a week to have the ability to purchase it.)
On June 6th, Rockstar launched a new month of GTA+. Typically, these months last 4 weeks except this one is less than 3 weeks. Oh, and this GTA+ month is a little bit more lighter on content this time.
This GTA+ month started on June 6th and runs through June 24th. The end date is also a Monday. GTA+ months usually change over on Thursdays unless a new update releases. GTA Online content updates tend to release on Tuesdays. From this, we can infer that the next big GTA Online update will release on June 25th.
That’s just a little over two weeks from the time of writing. The information Rockstar gave us this week on the update was good but there’s still a lot missing. They did say you should be “Stay tuned to the Newswire for more details on what’s headed to GTA Online this Summer” though. Except more details in the next week or so.
Website mistake shares extra detail
Something worth reporting on but not worth an entire article is a small location detail for the upcoming update. This comes from the German version of Rockstar’s Newswire post which has a slightly different version when translated to the final English post.
Spotted by Twitter user @harryodini588, Rockstar’s German version states the new bail enforcement and bounty hunting business will be stationed in Grapeseed. This is a small town located in Blaine County, close to Sandy Shores.
