Rockstar Games have just released a new GTA Online update. This is the first downloadable patch since the Agents of Sabotage update although Rockstar did push server side patches to fix issues in the past few weeks.

First spotted by ApokalyptYT on Twitter (currently known as X), this new patch is a small one focused on fixing issues across the current gen platforms. We also have the download sizes for this patch and the patch notes below

    Download Sizes

The GTA Online January 2025 Update comes in at around 700MB on Xbox Series X|S and around 281MB on PS5. The version number is now 1.008.001 on PS5 and 1.8.1.0 on Xbox Series X|S.

    Patch Notes

Rockstar Support have posted the patch notes on their website and we have them down below:

    [January 21st, 2024]

    Game Stability and Performance

    • Fixed a set of issues which were resulting in crashes when playing GTA Online
    • Fixed an issue that resulted in a crash when playing ‘Gather Intel’ for The Cayo Perico Heist on Xbox Series X|S consoles
    • Fixed an issue that resulted in a crash when playing the mission ‘Pack Man’ in GTAV on Xbox Series X|S consoles

    [January 22, 2025]

    Fixes

    • Fixed an issue that resulted in the cargo plane not being removed after the crash scene during the Black Box File Finale

    Another Background Update

Rockstar Games issued a background update to GTA Online earlier this month too. These are server side changes and the patch notes were reported by Tez2. Below are the full patch notes:

    • Fixes an issue where tattoos overlap upon switching characters.
    • Fixes an issue where switching between roof options on the Terminus Patrol causes the windows to fall off and continuously accumulate on the ground.
    • Patches a glitch that allowed the Terrorbyte’s Collectible Scanner to be used in single-player.

    GTA Online continues

In other GTA news this week, GTA V was the most watched game all of livestreams last year thanks to GTA RP. Plus, there has been a lot of talk about how GTA 6 might cost $100 for the standard version so we took an in-depth look at why this may or may not happen. Also, like usual, there is the ongoing Event Week and GTA+ Month to enjoy.
