The film made entirely inside of GTA Online has a new trailer and tickets are now on sale or rather being given away; more details on that later. Written and directed by Pinny Grylls and Sam Crane, GRAND THEFT HAMLET is said to be an “hilarious and profoundly moving story”.
The film centres around two actors who play GTA Online during the pandemic and their attempt to perform Shakespeare’s Hamlet at the Vinewood Bowl in Los Santos. As we know, GTA Online lobbies are notoriously explosive making some usually easy tasks more difficult.
Last month, a trailer was shared online along with more details about its release. A global release is aiming for early 2025 whilst a UK date is penned for December. The film will also be available to watch on streaming services at some point but details on that have not been given.
Free Tickets
That said, a new trailer is out and so are tickets! Firstly, let’s talk about getting tickets to watch it next month. The film will be released in cinemas throughout the UK and Ireland on December 6th. However, select cinemas in the region will be screening it a bit earlier for free.
As part of the Escapes initiative, anyone can book up to 2 free tickets for a December 2nd screening. All you have to do is select your cinema and sign up on their site here. I’ll be making the trip to a screening so I can write a review right here on RockstarINTEL.
New Trailer
Ahead of its British cinema release, the film had gotten a “UK theatrical trailer”. Shared as an exclusive via Empire Magazine, it shows off a few new scenes from the film plus displays all of the awards it has won so far at the various film festivals it has been at. You can watch the new trailer here.
Are you going to watch Grand Theft Hamlet in cinemas? Let us know down in the comments. Once I’ve seen it I’ll have a review up on the site.
