The upcoming GTA Online Agents of Sabotage DLC is now available to download ahead of its official release on Tuesday December 10th. Much like how the previous 3 updates could be downloaded, Rockstar Games have done the same here with this winter’s big GTA Online update.
What is this “pre-load”?
This update can only be downloaded on PS5 and PS4. You can’t play the new update either. It is simply just to save you time so you can play as soon as the content goes live. As for Xbox an PC users, you’ll have to wait until the official release of the DLC at 10am UK time on December 10th to start downloading.
Some good news for Xbox players though; Xbox are currently testing a patch pre-load feature and will be looking to roll it out fully in the near future. This means the next major GTA Online Update could get the same pre-load treatment as PlayStation.
When Will Agents of Sabotage Release?
The first time a pre-load happened for a GTA Online update was last summer with the San Andreas Mercenaries update. This continued with The Chop Shop in December and Bottom Dollar Bounties in June this year. All of three of these patches were able to be downloaded 48 hours early by PlayStation users.
As we know, Agents of Sabotage will release on Tuesday December 10th and the pre-load began at 10am UK time on Sunday December 8th; the expected 48 hours before launch. PlayStation lists the Agents of Sabotage update as installable from 10am UK time on Tuesday, as we expected.
Download Size
The GTA Online Agents of Sabotage pre-load was first spotted by @AllEyezHD on Twitter (currently known as X). They posted a screenshot of the update being downloaded on PlayStation. It comes in at around 6GB on PS5. As for PS4, the download size is around 2.831GB.
In comparison to the Bottom Dollar Bounties, it is larger in size on PS5 but smaller on PS4. These sizes are more in-line with The Chop Shop and San Andreas Mercenaries than Bottom Dollar Bounties.
Unfortunately Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC players will have to wait until Tuesday December 10th at 10am GMT to download the update. We’ll cover their download sizes once they are available. PC players will get the update across Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Rockstar Games Launcher moments later.
GTA Online’s Agents of Sabotage update will add new robberies, new vehicles, upgrades to existing vehicles, new weapons, Job Creator additions and more. There’s even a GTA 6/Vice City reference.
