GTA III The Definitive Edition is leaving PlayStation Plus next month. Gamers who have had a PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium since June have been able to play the controversial remaster of Liberty City without owning the game.
This is not surprising timing. Previously, GTA Vice City Definitive Edition and GTA III were in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers for 6 months and it has been as long since GTA III returned.
The Rockstar Games title has appeared on the “Last chance to play” page which is part of the PlayStation Store on consoles. PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium have until December 16th to play the game with your subscription.
It joins the list of 8 other games exiting PlayStation’s catalog just before Christmas. These include Battlefield 2042, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge – Enhanced Edition and Sonic Frontiers.

This time last year, GTA San Andreas’ time in the service ended. In July, GTA III on mobile became part of GTA+. This means if you sign up for GTA+, you can continue playing GTA III on either your mobile device or PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
In related news, GTA V and GTA Online entered the PS+ catalog on Tuesday. It will likely be for a 6 month stint which is typical for Rockstar Games titles. Red Dead Redemption will also enter the subscription on December 2nd. This will be the new re-release version with extra features in the PS5 port.
