GTA 6 will exceed the expectations of players according to its top boss. After Rockstar Games shared the news the game will be delayed from Fall 2025 and has a May 26th 2026 release date, more statements were shared from the business.
Strauss Zelnick is the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, and on their website he made statement aimed at investors. The company is just days away from releasing their plans for the next year and financial information to investors but the delay won’t please many. The company’s share price was down around 10% when the markets opened on Friday morning.

“We support fully Rockstar Games taking additional time to realize their creative vision for Grand Theft Auto VI, which promises to be a groundbreaking, blockbuster entertainment experience that exceeds audience expectations.
While we take the movement of our titles seriously and appreciate the vast and deep global anticipation for Grand Theft Auto VI, we remain steadfast in our commitment to excellence. As we continue to release our phenomenal pipeline, we expect to deliver a multi-year period of growth in our business and enhanced value for our shareholders.” – Strauss Zelnick, CEO – Take-Two Interactive
Looking Forward
The key takeaways from this statement is that they are behind Rockstar Games wanting around 6+ months more time to polish the game. In order to perfect it, more time must be allowed. He also said that this game will be a “groundbreaking, blockbuster entertainment experience”.
Zelnick goes as far as to say that GTA VI will exceed the expectations currently held by the fans. He’s been saying for a year now that Rockstar are targeting perfection.
