GTA 6 and the really interesting sponsorship by Rockstar Games has been discussed by a boxer in a new podcast episode. A few weeks ago, Rockstar Games announced they were going to be sponsoring an up-and-coming boxer trained by a former world champ.

The company shared a short video on Instagram featuring the boxer along with a caption saying they are “excited to be sponsoring @stgeorgegroves as he trains future champion @lucasroehrig1. We wish them the very best on their road to the top!”

George Groves is an ex-British, Commonwealth, European & WBA super-middleweight champion. Since leaving the ring, Groves has become a trainer and launched his own podcast. In a recent episode he brought on his understudy Lucas Roehrig to talk about his boxing career so far an how the first few months training have gone.

Quizzed Over GTA VI Release Date

Near the end of the podcast episode, Groves’ co-host Dec mentions to Roehrig how he spotted the Rockstar Games logo on his jacket in the video and that it’s a big sponsor. Before Dec could continue talking about Rockstar, Groves interjects and states “Look, we don’t know anything about GTA 6 alright.” To which the co-host said “That’s what I care about! When’s GTA 6 out?”

Many fans commented on the Instagram Reel revealing the sponsorship asking when where the next GTA VI trailer is and when will it release.

George goes onto say “I don’t think they’re worried about selling more games to be honest but it’s a it’s a personal relationship with the Rockstar guys. They’re like family now. They’re invested on the journey. They want to support us in every way and any way they can so we really appreciate it.”

The other half of the hosting duo Dec tells Lucas “maybe you could feature in if, no, when you’re world champion, you’ll be in GTA 6 or maybe GTA 7 by then.” To which the young boxer responded with “yeah, that would crazy. That would be amazing.”

It will be interesting to see where this partnership goes over the next few years. You can listen to the full podcast episode here.
