Rockstar Games might be incorporating a cancelled GTA Online feature into GTA 6 according to a reputable insider. Fans who love music will be delighted if this finally ends up coming to fruition.
Feature Background
Back in 2022, it was reported by Tex2, formally known as Tez2, that Rockstar were developing an update to GTA Online that contained music creation. Tex has a long track record of reporting what’s going on inside of Rockstar and datamining content.
At the time, a reliable source told Tex that Rockstar would allow GTA Online players to create their own beats and mixes from within the game. Michael De Santa’s return to the game was also said to be an idea on the table. On top of that, Take-Two were spotted registering the domain “rapponator.com” all the way back in 2020. Rockstar Games released a music mixer game titled “Beaterator” in 2009.
This comes after Tex2 shared the apparent reason for Dan Houser’s exit from Rockstar which he got from two Rockstar Games employees. Houser went onto give his reason which is more PR friendly version of it. It was later revealed one of these staffers that supplied the claim to Tex knew about the GTA 6 trailer before Jason Schreier and Sam visiting all of the Rockstar Games offices.
Heading To GTA VI?

Since the report of a music making update, such content has never released for GTA Online. Much of what we have received has been criminal business focused and reworking of content from the cancelled Cops ‘n’ Crooks DLC.
In a thread on the GTA Forums discussing GTA VI, Tex responded to a fan with an interesting tidbit. The insider claims Rockstar had planned to update the Record A Studios from The Contract update to feature “Beaterator-alike features”. This would have included the ability to create custom mixes. However, it was “canned” for GTA V Online but “we’ll definitely see it in VI. A mobile radio/music player is a small step compared to this” according to Tex.
In another comment, Tex says Rockstar are prioritising the console versions of GTA VI ahead of a PC release for stability. The PS5 version is the main priority in particular. What do you think to this feature? Let us know down in the comments section below.
