GTA 6 is confirmed to release only on consoles in 2025 with no PC version confirmed yet. Rockstar Games are following their tradition of launching a new game on the current gen of consoles and not PC, at least in 2025.
According to Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive’s press release issued to Business Wire, Grand Theft Auto VI is coming to PlayStation 5 (PS5) and Xbox Series X|S consoles in 2025.
Whilst this news is disappointing to some fans, it is not unexpected. Based on Rockstar’s previous game releases, the PC version always releases a year or two after the initial console release.
We may be two years away from GTA VI in our hands on console but we’re likely much longer away to have it on PC. Take-Two like to double dip, sometimes triple of quadruple dip on Rockstar Games titles. The next generation open world game is so anticipated, many gamers will buy a console just to play this at launch day.
GTA V had a similar situation. It released in 2013 on Xbox 360 and PS3 but did not release on PC until 2015. More recently, Red Red Redemption 2 released in 2018 on consoles but not until 2019 on PC.
Fans have been speculating since Rockstar bought the team behind FiveM that PC would be getting a day one launch date for that won’t be the case.
