The team behind FiveM who now work at Rockstar Games have announced Server Upvotes can now be purchased from within the Cfx.re Portal. This is one of many changes made to the service since Rockstar Games acquired the platform and development team in 2023.
For those unaware, servers can be given upvotes on FiveM or RedM to boost its ranking on the platform. This offers more visibility to those looking to take part in a server be it GTA RP or something else. This includes getting servers featured within the main selection front and centre of the service.
In a new blog post, Cfx.re laid out all the information necessary starting with two types of Upvotes that can be paid for:
Bursts
Burst Server Upvotes are intended for short-term promotional boosts, quickly applying a significant boost to your server in order to swiftly increase its ranking in a briefer time period. The maximum time you can deploy Bursts for is 24 hours.
Recurring
Recurring Upvotes are a sustained promotional boost applied over an extended weekly or monthly period of your choice to maintain long-term visibility in the server rankings. Recurring Upvotes are a paid subscription that automatically renew every 7 or 30 days depending on the package you select.
The more upvote points a server accumulates, the higher it will be positioned in the server list rankings.
How to Purchase Upvotes
Cfx.re also share how to purchase these upvotes. Head to the Cfx.re Portal and choose how many Upvotes you would like. You can then pay directly within Portal, using your chosen payment method. Upvotes are limited to a per-transaction and cumulative daily spending limit of $2000 USD.
You can manage your Upvote purchases in the Cfx.re Portal; auto-renewing Upvote subscriptions can be canceled at any time. You can find out more information about purchasing Upvotes here.
How to Apply Upvotes to Your Server
As soon as your Upvotes have been purchased within Portal, they can be assigned via the FiveM/RedM client. To do this, click on the “Upvote” button in the server list for the server of your choice.
At the end of their blog post, Cfx.re thank all of the playerbase for the support. The team also tease there are plenty of plans for Portal in 2025 and further out. As and when there are and news updates, we’ll be sure to report on them here.
