The first project out of a studio ran by Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser and other former executives has a release date and more confirmed. In social posts and emails, Absurd Ventures have given us a lot of info about what’s coming first from them.
Absurd Ventures is a new transmedia studio led by Mr Houser who wrote the GTA and Red Dead games. Since launching the company in stealth mode several key ex-Rockstar staff have joined in this new establishment.

First project gets full reveal
We learned in November last year the first two pieces of media from Absurd are a graphic novel titled AMERICAN CAPER and a 12-part audio fiction series named A BETTER PARADISE. The latter is the project that Absurd are co-producing with QCODE. Absurd have now unveiled a release date for, cast, and more for A BETTER PARADISE. To start off with, a description of what the series is about can be found below:
Set in the near future, A BETTER PARADISE tells the story of the ill-fated development of an ambitious but addictive digital game-world project led by inventor and psychologist, Dr. Mark Tyburn.
As the advanced software they developed began delivering unexpected and disturbing results, the team fell apart under strange circumstances and the project was abandoned. The game world and the super-intelligence within were discarded, left dormant and undiscovered. Until now.
On the marketing material, Absurd say A BETTER PARADISE will release on June 10th so just a few weeks away. It features The Walking Dead star Andrew Lincoln as Dr. Mark Tyburn, plus Shamier Anderson as Kurt Fischer Paterson Josephas NigelDave, Rain Spencer as Daisy Tyburn, and more You can catch some behind the scenes of the cast recording the series with this post by Absurd on their Instagram.
Two minutes of audio from the series can be heard in the visual trailer that Absurd Ventures also shared as part of this news drop. The trailer ends with Andrew Lincoln talking about how it is created by the writers behind Red Dead Redemption and GTA.

GTA Radio Host Returns
One of the former top Rockstar Games employees that joined Absurd is Lazlow Jones. He started working at Absurd in 2021 so quite early in its history. Absurd’s podcast partner QCODE have revealed on Twitter that Lazlow will be at the The Podcast Show to talk about the new fictional podcast by Absurd. Mr Jones was an essential producer, actor and so much more for Rockstar’s games.
