A brand new rumor has released and has gained traction around the industry, with many Rockstar Games fans talking about it. Of course, it’s another Grand Theft Auto 6 rumor. This happens a lot before brand new Rockstar titles are announced, with only a few actual substantial rumors ending up true. The most credible rumors are those with photo evidence or some sort of proof linked, however this one has blown up without any evidence whatsoever.
The rumor states that the poster has “two friends who are very reliable and have worked for places such as Kotaku and PC Gamer” and that’s how they got the information. Already kinda dodgy. Here’s what the rumor said:
It’s likely that the poster just read the previous Project Americas rumor and wanted to get some attention by basing this fake post on it.
Kotaku editor Jason Schreier commented on the post stating that it was fake. Schreier is usually well-knowledged on the games industry and has a good idea of most developer’s projects. He also is the editor for the site which the poster claims their source worked at.
Former Rockstar Games insider Yan2295 also said that the rumor had no credibility.
I don't see anything giving that "leak" any credibility. On top of that, @jasonschreier said in the comments of the Reddit thread that it's fake, and I'd tend to believe him more than the random person who made the post.
Still not impossible, but take it with a huge grain of salt https://t.co/wM6sJEFixY— 𝕐 (@Yan2295) July 1, 2019
