A new and unexpected Red Dead Redemption 2 update has been released by Rockstar Games. It removes features from Red Dead Online. This change by Rockstar has annoyed some fans. A similar change was made to GTA Online earlier this year. Despite no new major content updates in years, Rockstar Games are still continuing to perform basic updates and Event Months. Rockstar Games have just released a new GTA Online update just days after the last one. That update included the addition of a new anti-cheat, BattlEye. Whilst it has brought the end to various mod menus plaguing GTA Online, it also ended Steam Deck/Linux support and other problems. A fan has begun porting GTA San Andreas’ map into Assassin’s Creed Unity. Whilst these two games are completely, different from each other, that has not stopped YouTuber Sliderv2 from attempting this unexpected mashup. Nopixel 5.0 has officially been confirmed to be in development along with teases of how it will change GTA RP. It has been nine months since nopixel 4.0 released with a ton of enhancements but a new chapter in the roleplay server’s story is soon to be written. GTA Online has suffered network attacks by disgruntled players following the launch of a new anti-cheat. First spotted by content creator Mors Mutual, both GTA Online and Red Dead Online servers went down. Fans loading into GTA Online to kick off their weekend experienced login issues for a short while. These issues were reported on Rockstar’s own service status site. It showed GTA Online and Red Dead Online for all platforms had limited access. Alongside the introduction of Battleye anti-cheat in GTA Online, Rockstar Games are now taking unban requests. The company shared a new article on their support site titled “Rockstar Games Online Suspension and Ban Policy”. The article goes into detail on how suspensions and bans work in their games such as GTA Online. For example, breaking Rockstar’s Community Guidelines or Terms of Service will result in an immediate suspension. Continued violations lead to an immediate ban. These are no expiration date. It has been a turbulent few days for GTA Online players on devices running Linux such as the Steam Deck. After 9 years, Rockstar Games finally implemented a third party anti-cheat which surprised the entire GTA community.
