Earlier tonight, Take-Two Interactive held its latest investors call to basically brag about how much money they have made in the last 3 months.
Grand Theft Auto V / GTA Online
Take-Two Interactive revealed that Grand Theft Auto V sold another 5 Million Copies in the last 3 Months, taking the total sales worldwide at over 160 Million Copies meaning 20 Million copies were sold in 2021. The Grand Theft Auto Series has now sold over 370 Million copies.
Grand Theft Auto Online is still doing better than ever, being revealed that GTA Online had more players attending in 2021 than any other year since it launched 9 years ago back in October 2013.
Red Dead Redemption 2 / Red Dead Online
Red Dead Redemption 2 sold an extra 4 Million copies in the last 3 Months, Just 1 Million copies less than GTAV. Red Dead Redemption 2 has now sold over 43 Million copies worldwide. The Red Dead Series has now sold over 65 Million copies.
Strauss Zelnick also claimed that Red Dead Online has exceeded Take-Twos expectations. Strauss also claimed that Red Dead Online had a series of new updates in the last 3 Months, and then classes the Halloween and Christmas events as updates.
GTA Trilogy
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy Definitive Edition for IOS and Android Devices will be releasing this year according to Take-Two. The Trilogy also exceeded T2s commercial sales.
Strauss Zelnick has also reassured fans that Rockstar Games is working hard on fixing The Trilogy and said they recognise that it fell short of their Quality Standards and claims it wont happen again. With more updates to fix the 3 games coming soon.
Zelnick said to VentureBeat – There were quality issues and we addressed that head on, we definitely had some quality issues. We have more updates coming. And it’s always our goal to release only the highest quality projects. If we fall short, it’s terribly disappointing for all of us. We did fall short on that occasion. And we’ve begun to address it and we’re happy that we began to address it. There’s more work to be done.”
