Rockstar Games are soon said to unveil their next generation creator platform that will replace FiveM and usher in a new era of GTA RP and user generated content: the Rockstar Online Modding Engine. This has been years in the making and if trusted community members are correct, it could be in your hands before GTA 6.
From Rockstar acquiring the entire FiveM platform and team behind it to reports last year that they were going to release a brand new creator tool in GTA Online, things are seemingly coming to fruition.
As briefly mentioned, well-known GTA community members have since begun sharing details on what they’ve been told about Rockstar’s new platform which is called ROME (Rockstar Online Modding Engine) aka Project Soundstage. More on what it is later.
Rockstar insider and dataminer Tez2 shared in a Discord message (posted by videotechuk_ on Twitter) a list of Rockstar APIs. These endpoints went live early on Wednesday 24th September. All of the APIs feature the internal project soundstage name. (Correction: Videotechuk_ previously mentioned these endpoints went live on September 24th but they actually appeared in March 2025 and had only just been found by Tez and Gogsi123). Below is the list found by Tez:
- soundstage.scapi.rockstargames.com
- soundstage.scui.rockstargames.com
- soundstage.scauth.rockstargames.com
- soundstage.rgl.rockstargames.com
- soundstage-gamedownloads.rockstargames.com
- soundstage.cloud.rockstargames.com
- api-soundstage.creative.rockstargames.com
- admin-soundstage.creative.rockstargames.com
- console-soundstage.creative.rockstargames.com
More Details

Popular GTA content creator TGG posted a Tweet on Wednesday adding to the conversation. He said “Rockstar Games will announce Project Soundstage AKA “ROME” sooner rather than later, I’m told.” He added that Tez will probably “elaborate shortly”.
Reports of a major announcement from Rockstar come just a day after the company revealed they have worked with massively popular GTA RP server nopixel on the next big update. Nopixel V was also confirmed to launch on the Rockstar Games Launcher and other PC platforms.
Videotechuk_ asked another dataminer called Gogsi123 if there’s any reference to Red Dead Redemption 2 in the Project Soundstage APIs. The dataminer said yes. He found one called rdr-soundstage.ros.rockstargames.com. Perhaps we could see Red Dead Online and RedM not as neglected?
What Is Project Soundstage/ROME?

For those unaware of what Soundstage/ROME is, we covered it before when GTA Focal released details about it in their exposé of FiveM’s inner workings. Essentially, it is Rockstar’s version of FiveM. Earlier this year, a document further alleging what has been taking place behind closed doors at Rockstar and FiveM contained even more ROME info.
It claimed people working behind the scenes played favourites with certain GTA RP servers including nopixel. That server was apparently able to bypass an updated FiveM agreement as it had began work on moving over from FiveM to ROME. The news that nopixel V is being made with Rockstar seemingly confirms this is part of the story is true.
This all comes after fans raised concerns about the future of FiveM and GTA RP. Check out that article here. If Rockstar and Cfx.re have chosen not to pursue security updates for FiveM, phasing it out for ROME might be a reason why.
