Rockstar Fixes GTA Online Bug Years Later With New Update

Rockstar Games have released another background update for GTA Online. We’ve seen them put out a few of them since the Agents of Sabotage content update dropped in December. Every other week, sometimes on Thursdays, Rockstar will put out fixes for various things.

Background patches that fix issues without the need of downloading an update is a regular occurrence after a new GTA Online update. New content updates typically introduce new bugs and that is what happened with Agents of Sabotage. Therefore Rockstar did put out a few updates last month. Meanwhile today’s background update was not really about the Agents of Sabotage DLC. Today’s fixes coincided with a new Event Week focusing on Drift Races.

    Patch Notes

Today’s background update information comes from reliable community insider Tez2 who has shared patch notes of the background update. Below are all of the known changes:

    • Any new Salvage Yard robbery involving a vehicle that matches one already in your Salvage Yard will be marked as ‘Acquired.’
    • Fixes an issue where Vernon fails to enter the Burrito van during the Investigation: Davis prep for the South Central Leak.
    • Fixes an issue where LS Tags posters disappear upon spraying them.
    • Mission-related contacts (such as Ron, Gerald, etc.) can no longer be called while inside a property to patch several glitches.
      • “The fix applies to the following contacts: Yohan, Ron, Tony, Agent 14, Dax, Mutt, Charlie, and Oscar Guzman. It addresses the ‘Skipping cooldown’ glitches and is unrelated to mission contacts.” – Tez

The issue with Vernon has been a problem for a few years now. Fans on Reddit could not believe how long it took Rockstar Games to fix the issue but it is now all done. Others on social media were sad to see the Salvage Yard glitch patched.

Furthermore, Rockstar did publicise two fixes on their Support website. One of them is the glitch where Vernon gets suck but there’s also another. You can view them both below:

    • Fixed an issue where players were unable to claim the Ocelot Virtue reward after completing all Last Dose missions
    • Fixed an issue where Vernon would get stuck near the wall and would not enter the van when stealing the meth equipment during South Central Leak – Investigation: Davis
