Yet another protest is being planned in solidarity of the affected ex-Rockstar Games employees. This comes after several protests occurring outside of Rockstar North in Edinburgh and Take-Two’s London and Paris offices last month.
Announced by the Tech Workers Coalition on Twitter and spotted by @FriendlyAaron1, a new location has been chosen for a protest this week: Rockstar New York. Titled “New York City Rockstar Works Solidarity Rally”, the protest will take place at 5pm onwards on Friday December 5th so in just a few days.
Located at 622 Broadway, this Rockstar Games office is their headquarters. Take-Two‘s legal teams are located on the floors below Rockstar’s in the same building. A protest outside this office would be significant given it is at a place with far more foot traffic. It is Broadway which is a busy road within lower Manhattan.
Join us to protest the union-busting and illegal firings of 30+ people & demand that workers are reinstated!

As for what to expect on the situation soon, we are currently in a 6 week period for Rockstar to respond over interim relief. This requests the company to reinstate all of the employees who have been fired or to place them on full wages while the employment tribunal takes place. The timeline given for a decision is mid-December. We’ll be sure to keep you up to date as and when anything is announced.
Just last week, more political pressure began being applied to Rockstar in the UK with a meeting set for tomorrow. Learn more here. As for the motion tabled in UK Parliament by Christine Jardine, 6 more MPs have signed in support of it. Meanwhile co-founder and ex-creative director Dan Houser was questioned over the recent alleged union busting.
