The recently discovered Red Dead Redemption 2 mystery involving spider webs has been talked about by someone who worked on the game and that knew of its existence.
It has taken over 7 years for fans to spot spider webs that appear at certain hours of the night in specific locations. This led to a easter egg hunt within the community as players tried cracking what they mean and where the mystery ends.
Last week, we covered the several stages of this mystery that had been found up to that point. The webs ended up taking players to shootable telegraph poles and a guitar. Fans on the r/RedDeadMysteries subreddit are still trying to find out the next stage of this mystery and what it could mean. But now we have heard from someone who worked on the game at Rockstar and knew of this mystery.
An Ex-Rockstar Staffer Speaks

Adam Butterworth is an Audio Test Engineer at Remedy and was previous one of the quality assurance testers at Rockstar. He worked on Red Dead Redemption 2 and has shared what he knows (or rather just a slither to avoid giving up the whole mystery).
The developer Tweeted that it is “absolutely wild people have found this” meaning the spider webs. He went onto say “I remember hearing about this and thinking it would never be discovered.” To be fair, 7 years is a long time and who knows it may never have been found or there are things in the game that are still undiscovered.
It’s nice to see one of the many people who had hands in the creation of this game publicly acknowledge such a thing. Maybe other staff who know of this mystery could also come out and give their thoughts?
There are lots of different branching theories about this mystery. Has the easter egg already been found and there is nothing left to figure out? Are birds a significant component? Is there a Pagan connection? The community is in different camps but all seek a common goal.
If there are any significant developments in this story, we’ll be sure to cover it. To keep up to date with everything related to Red Dead Redemption and Red Dead Online, then make sure to check back to RockstarINTEL.
