The new GTA Online update Money Fronts has just released and it contains files for a new zombie mode. This is a different special event mode compared to the North Yankton survival that came out last year for Halloween. Fans loved revisiting the iconic cemetery and fighting off waves of zombies. This year, we’ll be heading to a different location…
Much like in previous years, Rockstar Games’ big Halloween event has been put in the summer update. This means fans who enjoy datamining the game have looked within the game files and have accessed parts of this new Halloween event alongside proof mansions are coming to GTA Online.
This new event/mode will likely release in October. Below will be spoilers for this year’s upcoming Halloween event in GTA Online so proceed if you wish to learn more about it…
Location and Mode
According to the files found by @Lucas7yoshi_RS, this new zombie mode will take place on Cayo Perio, the island introduced to GTA Online in 2020. Any details found below are subject to change.
This new zombie survival will be a multi-stage mode with 4 new enemy types according to the dataminer who shared a playthrough. You’ll begin at the compound before fighting your way through to the outside.
From there, you’ll get in a vehicle and move onto a new location, the Main Dock, where you will take on more of the undead. A bunch of new zombie types will pop up here such as the Splitter and Conquistador.
After clearing those waves you will then re-enter a vehicle and move onto another area of the island, the West Beach and continue undead warfare. This is also repeated once again. The final different area though, the North Dock, will see Gustavo, the undead panther trainer appear spawning panthers until you defeat him.
Once that section has been completed, players will be able to select the next stage. There are a few options:
- Leave Cayo Perico: Selecting this will require all players to enter the Velum at the airstrip which will complete the survival.
- Endless Waves: Compound
- Endless Waves: Main Dock
- Endless Waves: West Beach
- Endless Waves: North Dock
- Selecting any of the Endless Waves option will move all players to this location and begin Endless Waves.
If you end up picking the escape from Cayo option, you’ll have to head to the airstrip, get in the Velum and fly back to Los Santos. Of course, zombies will be on your tail.
Props
Another dataminer by the name of @evan_tgp found various props for the new zombie mode. These include a few damaged vehicles. You can view them for yourself below and click on each image to view them in full resolution.
Zombie Models
Lucas also shared images of the various zombie NPC models that will be part of this new survival mode on Cayo Perico. They’re mix of locals and festival goers that have been infected. Plus, a skeletal “The Conquistador” model was also found. Lucas says they are immune to explosives and bullets meanwhile Evan said the skeleton’s head can be taken off by a headshot.

The dataminer also managed to get a zombie DJ up and running. It is unknown what this DJ will do. Perhaps he will make the zombies dance?
