Rockstar Games have released today the latest GTA Online content release titled GTA Online San Andreas Mercenaries. It is free for all players on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.
The update includes several new story missions, clothing items, vehicles and more on day one. There is some unreleased content coming as part of the usual drip-feed.
New story missions
The new GTA Online missions part of this content drop are called:
Project Overthrow is launched via the new Operations Terminal upgrade for the Mammoth Avenger. You can also take on 3 private contracts under the LSA Operations branding. These are also initiated from the Operations Terminal.
Bombing runs, air craft carrier night raids and more, there is a whole host of new and explosive missions to take part in for money.
Hangar Changes
Rockstar have changed how hangars work for smuggling. The studio have listed these changes now live in the game:
- New land-based Source and Sell Cargo Missions have been added. These can be selected via the Free Trade Shipping Co. website, allowing players to engage with their Smuggling business in an entirely land-based manner
- A staff member has been added to Hangars that can be sent to source cargo for a small fee
- Source Cargo Missions can now be launched in Freemode by calling Ron
- The Smuggling business Setup Mission can now be bypassed for a small fee
- The Mk II Weapon Workshop is now included with the Hangar’s Workshop upgrade
- Additional weapon pickups have been added to the Hangar
New Vehicles
Seven new vehicles have been added two the game as part of this content update on day one. These include the new F-160 Rajiu jet costing over $6 million. The Avenger operations terminal upgrade is also live separate from the 7 new vehicles. You can find the full list of day one vehicles along with their prices right here.
New Weapon
The tactical SMG is not purchasable from Ammu-Nation yet but can be purchased right now from the roaming gun van at a 10% discount. It is 25% off for GTA+ members. It’s regular price is $321,750. Tuesday’s gun van location is near the Del Perro Pier.
As for attachments, you can purchase and equip a suppressor, scope and extended clip on this brand new weapon.
New Clothing
According to Rockstar’s patch notes for this update, a lot of new clothes have been added to GTA Online with today’s update. They state over 160 items of male clothing and accessories have been added to clothing stores. As for females, over 220 pieces of clothing and accessories have been added to clothing stores.
There are also 2 new male hairstyles meanwhile a singular female hairstyle was added.
Career Progress
A brand new submenu of the GTA Online pause menu allows you to track challenges and earn new rewards easily. We have a dedicated article showing you how the new Career Progress menus work here.
What’s next?
The latest newswire post from Rockstar says to expect more vehicles later this summer. We have all of the unreleased vehicles listed here. There will also be dynamic events in Free-mode including armored van robberies later this summer too. In the more near future, a large-scale battle will take place on Cayo Perico which you can get involved in.
