It has taken over 6 years of development but the latest version of fan-favorite mod iCEnhancer has released. Offering improved visuals, it updates GTA IV’s look to be more modern.
iCEnhancer 4 was teased all the way back in May 2019 by its creator icelaglace. The 3.0 version came out nearly 11 years ago. In 2023, the modder said it would release soon. So fans have been waiting quite some time for it. Now the wait is over.
On Monday, the mod creator announced the immediate release of iCEnhancer 4 with a new trailer showcasing the mod in action.
In terms of improvements over previous versions, 4.0 is the first one to make use of physically-based lighting. This makes a big difference in how the game looks. Brand new shaders for fog, water and more are also included.

Furthermore, the modder claims iCEnhancer 4 is the best performing iCEnhancer ever in terms of frame rate. Plus, he also says this is the most stable version yet. This is due to the intensive testing done by contributors who have had early access to the mod.
