How to get the Railgun early in GTA Online

Here’s how you can get the Railgun early before its official release in GTA Online thanks to a community member. The Railgun is a new weapon coming to GTA Online as part of the Los Santos Drug Wars content update drip-feed. As it is drip-feed, the gun is already the game files and just not unlockable in-game.

How it works

As discovered by community member Floorball, this tutorial does not require any sort of glitch or mod and works on PC, Xbox and PlayStation. If you play any GTA Online job with the random weapon modifier on there is a chance you’ll be given the Railgun. It is in the random weapon pool as it is in the game files.

Floorball has been kind enough to create custom jobs for each platform that allow you to do this and get the railgun. Simply play one of these custom jobs with another player, if you don’t get the Railgun just die and respawn. Keep repeating this until the Railgun has been added to your GTA Online inventory. How to use the Railgun in freemode

When you’ve spawned in with the Railgun in the job you need to leave the job from your in-game phone. This allows you to load into a GTA Online freemode session with the Railgun. Floorball notes if you force a game save by doing something such as changing a clothing item then you’ll keep the Railgun even if you switch sessions.

Floorball notes that the Railgun may sometimes be removed from your GTA Online inventory; this is appears to happen when you take part in jobs that feature custom weapon inventories. If you do end up losing your Railgun for whatever reason, you can just replay the job and get it again. You are also able to get ammo for it by purchasing all ammunition in your inventory.
