Google has changed a lot even before GTA 6 has come out. They are continuing to adjust how searches and news appears in their engine. This includes those unreliable AI overviews. These changes have had a big impact on websites like ours and how you are able to get the news you want.
One of the big changes they’ve made in the past couple of months is the introduction of “Preferred Source“. This is a tool that will prioritise the websites you love to receive your news and information from.
As a reader, you’ll know RockstarINTEL is an independent, fan-ran site that brings you reliable reporting and plenty of Rockstar/GTA news that most other gaming sites decide to neglect. That’s why we’d like you to please add our site as a Preferred Source on your Google account. This is currently only available in the USA and India.
We are going to show you how you can quickly add our site as one of your preferred sources so you never miss anything about GTA 6, GTA Online, Red Dead Redemption, and all things Rockstar Games. There are a few ways to do it:
You can choose to click the Google button below or this link here and it will take you to your Source preferences. RockstarINTEL will be found in the search bar so all you need to do is click the checkbox to make sure RockstarINTEL is now a preferred source. Thank you!

You can also add us to the the Prefered Source list by clicking the button, highlighted in the image below, in your Google News feed. Once you have added us, you’ll notice the same icon appear next to our name on Google news.

This feature is only currently only available in the United States of America and India at this moment in time. However, we know from backend analytics that many of our readers are from those two countries plus discover our articles from Google and in particular the Google News Feed so this is extremely relevant.
Why We’d Like You To Do This
We started reporting on GTA news and Rockstar Games updates over 12 years ago ahead of GTA V’s release. We were just fans of Rockstar Games and their titles. Our goal was to help the community never miss news and in particular avoid issues during GTA Online’s turbulent launch period. Since then, we’ve expanded and improved our coverage.
We’re grateful to the millions of people that read our work each year with many preferring to see what actual fans like ourselves say over large, corporate outlets that misreport or forget the details. If you’d like to continue to help our small, independent and fan-ran site, be sure to add our site as a bookmark, sign up to our newsletter, click our article links on socials and of course add us to your preferred source on Google. We’re always looking to do better and that can be achieved with your help.
