GTA V is the 2nd most downloaded PS4 game in the past month for Europe and 5th place in the USA and Canada. That’s right, the last gen version of Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online is chart-topping years after release despite a new and improved version available. It only lost out to newly released hit Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga in the EU.

This new information comes from PlayStation’s official monthly store charts. We also see how well the digital next gen version of GTA V did in April as well; it was 8th place in Europe and 18th in the USA and Canada.

Despite us seeing the physical next gen re-release of Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online for the PS5 last month, gamers are flocking to download the last gen version en masse. When you combine the PS5 and PS4 downloads together, this game is proving to be a never ending success for Rockstar Games. The cultural phenomenon is not showing signs of slowing down.

Rockstar continues to take over the charts

Red Dead Redemption 2, another beloved Rockstar title from 2018, ended the month in 5th place for Europe and 9th place in Canada and the USA. It might have released in 2018 and the online segment has been neglected by Rockstar but RDR2 is still selling a ton of copies every month. Many new games that gamers praise highly are outsold by the western masterpiece. GTA V in Top 10 Best Selling discs in UK

As reported by gamesindustry.biz, for the second week in a row Grand Theft Auto 5 was the 8th best selling disc in the UK. It even beat out new release Sifu and just behind Elden Ring.
