Rockstar Games‘ GTA V, GTA Online and Red Dead Redemption 2 all feature as top best selling games in 2025 so far. Brand new data has been released that reveals the top 20 best selling games across all of Europe in 2025 at the halfway stage. Where they place in the chart might also surprise you.
The data takes into account all of the physical disc and digital copies sold from January 1st to July 28th 2025. The countries included are: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
This is all compiled by tracking firm GSD. They receive the physical numbers from retailers and digital numbers from publishers such as Take-Two: Rockstar’s parent company. However, a handful such as Nintendo do not provide digital figures.
Who Needs GTA 6?

Provided by GSD to The Game Business, let’s take a look at how Rockstar’s titles have fared in 2025 so far. GTA V is the 3rd best selling game of 2025 so far. It comes just behind EA Sports FC 25 and Assassin’s Creed Shadows. No real surprise there.
Red Dead Redemption 2 comes in 4th place; just behind GTA V. This one is as impressive given Red Dead Online has not seen a big new DLC in years. Meanwhile the standalone version of GTA Online is the 15th bestseller so far. This is only available on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Interestingly, these are the same positions GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 held in the first half of 2024. So despite plenty of new releases and another year after release, not much has changed for GTA V and RDR2. This time next year we’ll have GTA 6 in this chart. Most
It was just last month Red Dead Redemption 2 reclaimed the crown of the most downloaded PS4 title of the month. Plus GTA V also was still one of the most downloaded PS5 games. More recently, it was revealed RDR2 has now sold over 77 million copies making it the 6th best selling game of all time.
