GTA V Gets New Updates To Fix Recent Issues

A brand new update for GTA V and GTA Online was released by Rockstar Games on Tuesday. This is the first downloadable patch made available for the game since last month’s Money Fronts update. In the past few weeks, Rockstar have put out a few server side fixes and tweaks but today’s patch requires an actual download.

This patch is only out for both GTA V Legacy and GTA V Enhanced on PC across all three storefronts. There is no console patch. Whilst players of GTA V Enhanced will be hoping text chat has been restored as part of this update, I regret to inform you text chat is still not present as of this update. There are still some fixes, such as the weapon wheel being fixed, worth taking a look at though which can be found below:

Patch Notes And Download Size

The update for GTA V Enhanced comes in at around 646mb depending if you play on the Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam or Epic Games Store. It will be downloaded when you sign into your chosen launcher. Patch notes covering both versions of GTA V on PC have been provided by Rockstar Games on their support site. You can read them below:

[July 8, 2025] – PC (Legacy and Enhanced)

General

• Fixed an issue that resulted in weapons not switching as quickly via the Weapon Wheel when using mouse and keyboard
• Fixed an issue that resulted in GTA+ Members being unable to claim free vehicles (PC Enhanced only)
• General fixes for stability and security

More Background Updates

A few recent background update were implemented in the past week or so. The fixes were posted by Rockstar Games on their support site. This was spotted by community member Tez2. You can find all of the recent background changes in the patch notes below:

[July 9, 2025]

• Fixed an issue that resulted in the Brickade 6×6 not being stored in the Freakshop after completing all First Dose missions.
• Patched Garment Factory Off-the-radar glitch.

[July 1, 2025]

• Fixed an issue that resulted in PC players receiving a transaction error if they own Higgins Helitours and have the maximum high demand bonus upon completing a full Hangar Sell Mission

[June 27, 2025]

• Fixed an issue that resulted in rebreathers depleting too quickly when underwater during The Cayo Perico Heist

It is such a shame for PC players than text chat is still yet to return in GTA V Enhanced. It is unclear when it will be added back into the game. It is an essential feature found in GTA V Legacy.
