GTA V and GTA Online will return to Xbox Game Pass but this time with a whole new platform and version. Xbox announced the good news on Thursday following a brand new GTA Online Event Week.
The game had been absent from the subscription service for well over a year but soon it will be back. In a blog post, Xbox say GTA V joins Game Pass on Tuesday April 15th. So you won’t have to wait long at all.
In previous stints, both the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and cloud versions have been playable in Xbox Game Pass. What’s different this time around is that the PC version is now included with PC Game Pass, Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Both the GTA V Legacy and new GTA V Enhanced versions are included in all of those 3 tiers of Game Pass which is a nice touch.
In The Works For Some Time

Since the middle of 2024, there has been datamines of the Rockstar Games Launcher suggesting plans were being put into place for PC Game Pass support. Soon fans can launch GTA V on PC through the Xbox App. This lets fans play on the same servers as Steam, Epic Games Store and Rockstar Games Launcher players.
How Will It Last In Game Pass?
There is no confirmed end date for GTA V in Game Pass like most Game Pass titles. However, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 are usually part of Xbox Game Pass for around 6 months before taking a year or so out. Similar things can be said about the Rockstar titles in PlayStation Plus, they last 6 months. Based on that, it would be a safe bet to assume it will have 6 months in Xbox and PC Game Pass.
