GTA Online is currently infected by cheaters for many players. That’s due to a new jailbreak firmware released for the PS4. God mode, invisibility, billions of cash and rank ups. Stay safe out there.
Lots of people are still playing the game on PS4 as they haven’t upgraded to a current gen console yet but they are under threat at the time of writing. Mass distribution of money and ranks put anyone playing on the platform at risk. If you get given all of this boosted cash or RP by a modder, Rockstar’s anti-cheat system may decide to take action and ban your account.
Why is this happening now? As spotted by dataminer Tex2, a recently released jailbreak for PS4’s 13.52 firmware is letting users on that version access PlayStation Network. Cheaters are now running wild with mod menus on PS4 servers.
This should not last too long though. Tex notes that “Sony tends to cut off PSN access for the previous firmware within a week or two of a new firmware release”. Additionally, the corporation “asks security researchers to wait until then before disclosing exploits. Someone may have disclosed or leaked this one early, thus Sony may act sooner than usual.”
This isn’t the first time something like this has occurred. Someone using a jailbroken PS5 was able to cause chaos on current gen due to an exploit with the then-latest software that Sony was yet to patch. Hopefully this issue is resolved in the next few days.
