The GTA 6 trailer leaked around 15 hours before it was scheduled to release. We’ve got reactions from the talented developers who work at Rockstar now the trailer is out officially.

Unfortunately, the leak quickly went viral ruining the soon to be historic moment for fans and developers. The leak caused Rockstar Games to share the trailer from themselves nearly a day early.

GTA VI has been in some form of development for close to a decade now. This means some of the employees at Rockstar have spent nearly 10 years on this project. Given the huge gameplay leak last year and now the trailer right at the finish line, it must have hurt. All of the hard working developers at Rockstar were waiting to finally be able to show us what they’ve been working on in their way.

Reactions from GTA VI devs

Many developers working at Rockstar Games on GTA VI have taken to Twitter (currently known as X) to share their feelings.

Graphics Programmer Angel said “I’m actually not going to watch this until I’m in the office with the people I made this with and who worked so fucking hard to make it happen.” When they did see it, he followed up saying “Okay, we watched it together. LFGGGG!!!!!!!”

Senior Graphics Programmer Emilio was not happy with the leak but sent out “The only way we’re gonna get through this is by sticking together, being a team”

Lead Graphics Programmer Fabian is “Proud of the team and the tech we were able to cram into this one. Enjoy!”

Zara, an associate gameplay systems engineer took to Twitter/X to say “sad that it came out this way, but couldn’t be more excited to be working on an amazing project with amazing people”

Jonathon who is an Environment Artist exclaimed “It’s crazy working on something so long, and finally seeing all your game art friendos and everyone else get hyped about the trailer, I’m still riding that high off my first trailer in my time as a game dev”.

Nes who is part of development support on characters shared that this is the “Proudest moment of my career.” You can also feel the frustration from Nes regarding the leak; “Wish the suprise wasn’t ruined by absolute c****”. Though love was shared “I love my team, I love this industry, I am so proud of us”.

Anoop who is a Principal Graphics Programmer said “We put a lot of hard work in to that trailer. Hope y’all love it.”

One of the gameplay animators on the game Khaled shared “Couldn’t be more proud to have this be the first project in my career , congrats to everyone involved.”

Material Artist David who grew up playing GTA shared his feelings by saying “its been incredible to contribute to VI and this trailer. Hope you all enjoyed it”

We’d like to extend out excitement and support to all of the Rockstar Games team hard at work on what is the most anticipated game of all time.
