Yesterday, social media erupted when a backend change was made to the PlayStation store listing of GTA 6. Fans quickly speculated that this could mean pre-orders going live very soon.
Following yesterday’s database development, we can now putting end to some speculation. It was said by PlaystationSize that there were two IDs which we now know as PPSA01547_00 and PPSA29660_00. This led people to assume one would be for the standard version of the game and the other would be for a deluxe edition of sorts. That is not the case and here’s why…
Explaining The Situation
PlayStationSize tweeted later on that these IDs are not related to additions. All editions for games use the same title ID. They also reiterated it is completely normal to have multiple IDs. This could be related to regions. For example, the US version of GTA 5 is different to the Japanese version with a different ID.
Futhermore, Game developer Cowcat Games offered an insight into what the IDs mean. They said in a tweet that given they have released PS5 games, they know what the ID number is for. These IDs are the chronological order when a game begins being added to Sony’s systems.

One of the IDs (PPSA01547_00) was made very early in the PS5 lifecycle whereas the other (PPSA29660_00) was made recently. In comparison, GTA V’s PS5 ID from 2022 is PPSA01721_00, a number a little bit later than PPSA01547_00. Cowcat’s first PS5 title from mid-2022 is PPSA06665_00.
PlayStationSize speculates Rockstar may have reserved PPSA01721_00. Cowcat thinks this could be a “very likely” reason. Additionally, they followed up by saying they think the more recent ID is just a different region.
It’s been frustrating to see as handful of GTA 6 fans talk down someone like PlayStationSize who is extremely knowledgeable on this topic. They have a perfect track record of analyzing the PlayStation Store system. Their knowledge is valuable in this situation and is someone you should be listening to rather than uneducated consumers on Twitter.
