Rockstar Games‘ FiveM platform has just received a major update for May 2025. The team who look after the modding platform, Cfx.re, have released a blog post detailing all of what is included in this most recent release.
It encompasses a wide range of improvements such as performance uplifts and fixes across both FiveM and RedM. These changes were made by not only Cfx.re but also the community. You will find all of what the May 2025 client update contains below:
FiveM Performance Improvements
Cfx.re say they have gained a “significant performance boost on FiveM” with this update. It can offer “up to a 100% increase in FPS when players are near a large number of Freemode Peds.”
This is substantial and means players on not the most recent hardware can have have a better experience. In particular those who enjoy playing in heavily populated servers. Cfx.re notes this is especially true for gamers who are CPU-bound. Though users with lower end GPUs may not see the same level of improvement. On top of that, a reduction in server hitches is part of this update.

Adjustable Wet Cloth Physics And Increased Particle Effects
For more realism, a new native to adjust wet cloth adhesion in GTA V has arrived. This offers the ability to “modify how tightly wet cloth adheres to characters”. Also the absolute maximum of particle effects that can run at the same time has been upped to 256.
Various Stability Improvements
According to the blog post, a lot of resources have been spent on fixing up FiveM’s stability. Various crashes have now been resolved following usage of the GTA Online: Agents of Sabotage content among other things.
New RedM Features
RedM has also received some new features. Firstly, custom loading screens have been introduced allowing for players to bring in their own images. As you’d expect, it works much like how it does on FiveM. There’s also the ability to retrieve the current screen aspect ratio in RedM.
