GTA 6 could come to PC sooner than you may think. That’s according to a reputable journalist who has seemingly heard rumblings of some movement at Rockstar regarding the PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI.
As we know, the next instalment in the GTA series launches only on PS5 and XBOX Series X|S this November. Over the past few years, sales of these consoles have stalled and fallen behind last generation and the prices have essentially doubled from their launch price back in 2020. It has become far more expensive to purchase a console. PC hardware has also gone up even more but there are more people with access to a PC than before.
Take-Two have been said PC gaming is a big market for them now and it will keep growing. It is not something they will underserve. Waiting until November 2027 or beyond for a PC version of GTA VI seems like a bad idea as consoles continue to rise in price.
According to the highly reputable Andy Robinson of VGC, Rockstar might be pushing forward their PC port of GTA VI. In the latest episode of his company’s podcast, the journalist discusses how the console and PC hardware is going up and that GTA VI causing stock there is to sell out. The most interesting part of the conversation is when Robinson shares what he has heard.
“So it is going to be interesting to see how it shakes out, I do think they’ll push the PC version up. There’s a bit of noise about that. That perhaps the PC version might arrive sooner than some people might expect just because of everything that’s going on. Maybe we’ll be surprised, right?”
Whilst this is nothing concrete, what he said suggests he has some potential knowledge of what Rockstar have been thinking. Of course, this could also be mixed with a bit of speculation too. We’ll have to wait and see what next year brings.
