Last week was a historical moment for the entire games industry after a 17-year-old teenager breached and stole confidential data from Take-Two Interactive’s ($TTWO) subsidiary Rockstar Games who illegally breached their data and stole up to 90 gameplay clips of the next Grand Theft Auto title, including private source code for Grand Theft Auto V which has been believed that was shared with a buyer – amid to a mysterious GitHub user publishing an internal list of game natives for modding intended research.
We have understood from The City of London Police the teenager was charged and detained with two acts of the Computer Misuse Act 1990 and violations of his bail conditions last week. According to law enforcement sources from journalist Matthew Keys, the arrest was allegedly in connection to data breaches with Rockstar Games and Uber.

As the case is ongoing, his last hearing date took place on Saturday, 24th September 2022.
The folks at Eurogamer had the chance to request a statement from The City of London Police to learn how the defendant pleaded guilty on his hearing day. In a brief statement, the 17-year-old teenager has pleaded ‘not guilty’ to his two counts of the Computer Misuse Act charges however the teenager pleaded ‘guilty’ to breaching his bail conditions. The police have stated the teenager will remain at a Youth Detention Centre until his next court hearing date.
