Singer-songwriter and Twitch streamer T-Pain has just claimed he is working on GTA 6. This is also the reason why Rockstar Games has told him he had to stop playing nopixel, the famous GTA RP server. This comes after nopixel’s huge update which introduced many enhancements to GTA V and boost in GTA RP popularity.
Rockstar apparently tells T-Pain no more GTA RP
In a clip captured by jmag.e on TikTok, the artist expressed his disappointment in being told he can no longer stream GTA RP sessions by Rockstar. A fan said “you need to be on nopixel RP” and here’s what T-Pain had to say:
I used to be. I used to be and then… how about this s***. I used to be on nopixel then I started working on GTA VI and they told me I couldn’t do RP anymore because it kind of goes… They had this whole speech like “what if somebody took your album and re-recorded it and more people were listening to that…” Then I’m like okay, I kind of get that but I was having a good time! Alright that’s fine!
T-Pain
T-Pain goes onto say after that talk he started “working on” Grand Theft Auto VI. Not too long after, Rockstar Games purchased the group behind FiveM, the modded GTA Online client that allows GTA RP to happen.
The singer laughed at this moment in his story retelling and said “wait a minute, what? *laughter* What the f***? *laughter* Wait. B**** s***, ya’ll tell me I couldn’t do this s*** then ya’ll teamed up with the people that make that, that enables the s*** RP can have? Anyways whatever.” If T-Pain is telling the truth, it is likely he may have broken his NDA (non-disclosure agreement) with Rockstar.
Could this mean GTA RP is coming to GTA VI?
T-Pain’s claims of him working on GTA VI has led fans to speculate what level of involvement he may have. Some fans had wondered if a track of his will be on an in-game radio station but others suggest he’s hosting a radio station.
However, a few members of the community have wondered, based on T-Pain’s story, if GTA RP mechanics and features will be part of the next iteration of GTA Online. An easy prediction to make for the next stage in the phenomenon that is GTA Online, is Rockstar deciding to bring some of its features to console with GTA VI. This is all speculation at this point but they did hire the team who laid down this work for GTA V on PC.
Since Rockstar Games acquired the team behind FiveM, the studio have been much more friendly towards this sort of modding. In fact, Rockstar gave away more than $600,000 to GTA RP Twitch streamers in the form of Twitch Subs last month.
Rockstar Games also recently gave Franklin Clinton actor Shawn Fonteno permission to use Franklin in his own GTA RP server titled Franklin’s World which will be relaunching soon. He asked due to Rockstar’s and Take-Two’s copyright policy when it comes to GTA RP content.
In other GTA VI talk, co-owner of nopixel xQc has revealed just how much he would pay to get the game a day early. It was an extortionate cost and the streamer caught the attention of Michael De Santa actor Ned Luke.
Meanwhile other GTA RP server users have donated money to buy a PC for a young member who was unable to keep playing the server. We covered the heart-warming story here.
