Ahead of the new GTA Online A Safehouse in the Hills update, Rockstar Games have removed the mansion teaser missions, blocked pre-loading and more.
Just as GTA Online players expected to be able to download the new update ahead of its release, the company put out a tunable change that has axed the New Listing missions from GTA Online. This means they are no longer accessible and you cannot earn the Black or Gold Tiers of rewards.
This was not totally unexpected given Rockstar has communicated often that you only have until yesterday, December 7th, to earn the bonuses. These included free cash, exclusive items and discounts on mansions.
Another tunable change made to the game is the removal of the mansion construction sites. Located in the Vinewood Hills, there were two under construction areas that began changing the in-game map. Those sites have now been removed before the finished and furnished mansions are implemented.
Furthermore, they have changed one of the cars in Rockford Hills’ Luxury Autos Car Dealership display and nothing more. Previously, the Bravado Banshee GTS & Übermacht Revolter with the Sessanta Nove Monogram livery were placed on display. Now the Revolter has been swapped out for an Übermacht Niobe as seen in the photo below.
Where Is The Pre-Load?
Interestingly, Rockstar Games have chosen not to do a preload of the update. This will be the first time in a few years that a new GTA Online update is not available to download 48 hours before its launch.
This decision will no doubt disappoint fans. GTA Online players have loved this feature since its introduction in summer 2023 with the San Andreas Mercenaries update. It means once the clock strikes 10am on launch day, everyone can jump into the new content without having to wait for a download to complete.
It is unknown why Rockstar chose to now allow PS4 users to pre-load these past two updates. Though many have speculated it is due people using a jailbroken PS4 access the content early and leak it on social media. This happened extensively with the Money Fronts update in June this year.
When Does The Update Release?
