Rockstar Games’ recent behaviour has now reached the UK government. After firing nearly 40 staff members and being on the receiving end of legal claims and protests, Rockstar has found itself being part of a parliament session.
On Thursday, MP for Edinburgh West Christine Jardine spoke up about what Rockstar had done. As seen in a video posted to her social media channels, the MP explained several of her constituents are those affected so they spoke to her about the situation.
The MP is concerned that Rockstar did union bust, which is the accusation made by the ex-staff members. She also sent a letter to Rockstar for more information. In addition, Jardine requested a meeting with ministers to make make further steps in support of the 30 or so employees.
Another MP and Leader of the House of Commons, Alan Campbell responded by acknowledging the games industry is important to the UK and so is rights at work. He went onto state he will be raising the issue with the relevant ministers to take action to resolve the matter.

More Protesting
This follows over 200 current Rockstar staff signing an open letter calling for for the reinstatement of their colleagues.
To help support the movement, a protest march from Rockstar North’s office to Scotland’s Parliament is planned for Monday. Meanwhile on Friday morning a gathering took place outside Take-Two’s London office once again. The IWGB shared photos and videos of the crowd chanting loudly in front of the doors
Rockstar also made its way to the Polish Parliament this week. An MP jokingly told the chamber how people will take to the streets if GTA 6 is delayed again. Learn more here. Plus, more long-time employees left Rockstar last week but by their own choice; all from the same department…find out about that situation in our report.
