Rockstar Games released a new update to their games launcher on Tuesday. This new version of the RGL comes with several backend upgrades to keep the platform working optimally for those enjoying Rockstar’s iconic titles on PC.
Patch Notes
As spotted by community member Tex2, the patch notes for Rockstar Games Launcher Update 1.0.106.2850 was posted to the Rockstar Support website. You can read the full patch notes below:
- Embedded web browser has been updated to Chromium 143
- Discord Game SDK has been replaced with the Discord Social SDK
- Fixed an issue that resulted in desktop notifications appearing too frequently
- Fixed an issue that resulted in reduced download speeds on select titles
- Support has been added for Windows 11 26H1 and 26H2
- Improvements have been made to the stability of the Rockstar Games Launcher
This update will be downloaded when you next boot the launcher up. It’s good to see Rockstar improving their launcher after plenty of players are not keen on it. Rockstar are making it clear the Rockstar Games Launcher is here to stay especially ahead of GTA VI’s release (it will come to PC at some point).
Further Changes

This comes just a couple of weeks after some players are no longer able to buy games via the Rockstar Games Launcher. Due to new laws in Brazil, players in the region can no longer purchase titles from Rockstar on PC though they still can via the PlayStation Store, Xbox/Microsoft Store, Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Last week, Rockstar moved all players’ Account Settings from Social Club to the main website. Meanwhile a new background update was made to GTA Online. This fixes a number of issues including one related to upcoming content that will drop in April.
Let us know down in the comments if any of the improvements made to the Rockstar Games Launcher are useful to you. For more GTA 6 news updates or anything else relating to Rockstar Games, stay tuned to RockstarINTEL.
