Red Dead Redemption on PS5 trends has trended in first place on the PlayStation Store. This came before the game had been released officially on Thursday.
The new PS4 version which also runs on PS5 has received significant backlash over its lack of new features. Many fans wanted a remake and 60FPS but instead the game is basically the original game unchanged except for a few settings and such.
Sizzling start for Red Dead on PS4
Spotted by Videotech, Red Dead Redemption was the top trending game on the PlayStation Store ahead of its release. As the game was not available for pre-order, it takes into account people wish listing and searching for the game. It’s proof that no matter how vocal fans are on social media with their disappointment, others are still keep to get a game like this.
The game has received a score of 88 on Metacritic for both the Switch and PS4 versions.
Nintendo Switch store charts
Red Dead Redemption does feature in the Nintendo Switch eshop charts in 15th place on launch day. It will be interesting to see how the audience on Nintendo’s platform reacts to this game releasing on their system.
Hype bleeds over to Xbox
Despite Red Dead Redemption’s re-release not coming to Xbox consoles, fans are flocking to purchase it. The game runs at 4K via backwards compatibility so Xbox players are easily able to play the game; they have been able to do so for a few years now. The game was trending today as one of the most purchased games.
