Red Dead Redemption has just been nominated an award over 14 years after it came out. This classic western by Rockstar Games was released all the way back in May 2010 on Xbox 360 and PS3. However, the game only came to PC in October this year. Fans had to wait nearly a decade and a half for it but it was worth the wait as developers Double Eleven did a great job porting it with some improvements.
Whilst it has not made it onto the various best selling game charts each month like GTA V does, that has not stopped the PC release being worthwhile of Rockstar’s time. It was part of the Steam Awards short list by Valve in a few categories. Fans then voted to decide the finalists.
The company has since released the narrowed down nominations. The PC version of Red Dead Redemption is one of the 5 finalists in the Best Soundtrack Award. It is competing against Frostpunk 2, Fate Stay Night Remastered, Silent Hill 2 Remake and Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition.

Legacy
This could be the second year in a row that a Red Dead Redemption game wins a Steam Award. Last year, fans voted Red Dead Redemption 2 the winner of the “Labor of Love” award. It beat finalists Dota 2, Deep Rock Galactic, Rust and Apex Legends. Red Dead 2’s victory was controversial with many players taking to social media to say it did not deserve it. The received a new patch on PC this month to fix various issues and improve the game. You can find the patch notes here.
