Red Dead Redemption Gets New Features In Update For Mobile Versions

Rockstar Games have released a new update for Red Dead Redemption on mobile devices. This applies to both the Netflix subscription accessible and fully purchasable versions so everyone gets to enjoy it.

It brings a new setting, plenty of improvements and addresses issues a few players have experienced since it launched back in December. Even though this is a mobile port of an old game, it is good to see love is being shown post launch to keep enhancing the player experience.

Rockstar Games did provide official patch notes on their support site. Whilst these patch notes are limited, there are at least less vague than the notes given out for the last update. Check them out below:

Patch Notes

[March 4, 2026] – Android and iOS v1.58.63226194

  • Added support for HDR on compatible devices
  • Added achievement support to the Google Play Games app
  • Added Game Center achievement support to the Apple Games app
  • General fixes and improvements

As you can see, HDR has been brought into the game for select devices. This means the game will look even better when HDR is enabled. Plus, achievement support has been added to both the iOS and Android versions.

As for the technical improvements, Twitter user @Ninjago9101 did some testing. The new patch features:

  • Slightly improved performance with fewer stutters
  • Reduced graphical glitches
  • Additional devices added to supported list

There are still some performance issues present on certain devices though. Hopefully Rockstar can continue to support this game on mobile and expand the compatibility list too.

This update comes a month after the game has surpassed 10 million downloads a mobile. It has become yet another ahead for both Rockstar and Netflix. You can learn more about how well it is doing here.
