Red Dead Redemption on PC has gained multiplayer thanks to a brand new and free mod. Titled RDRMP, this mod is inspired by FiveM & RedM with features such as custom scripting. Despite being early in development, it is up for download and play already.
Twitter user @videotechuk_ spoke with the mod’s creator K3rhos using the in-game text chat to learn more about the mod and his plans. The modder revealed it has taken over three months of work so far to get it to the point it is at now: public alpha.
The core aspect of the mod, simple multiplayer, is working though there are a few issues which make it not ready to be called a full release. K3rhos says he is now taking time to work out those issues that include player animations play correctly.
“The project is currently in its Alpha stage, and remains very barebones and experimental. It’s not yet a finished or polished experience really intended for players. It’s primarily aimed at server developers as a foundation to start scripting and experimenting with our API.”

Another feature of this mod is ability to let anyone host their own servers. This has been implemented already. There is a server list and custom resources can be used much like FiveM or RedM. However, there are no custom scripts at the moment but no doubt people will do so. This will create a lot of longevity for the game and communities can pop up.
If you do check the mod out for yourself, the mod creator requests you share your feedback. If you and suggestions or bug reports, feel free to submit them on the Discord server. You can download the mod right here. Hopefully Take-Two don’t issue a takedown.
How To Install RDRMP
It is relatively easily to install RDRMP. All you need to do is:
- Download the setup installer

Why Does This Mod Matter?

Rockstar Games and Double Eleven released the long awaited PC port of the classic western in 2024 but it came without any form of multiplayer as found in the original Xbox 360 and PS3 release.
This was to be expected given the PS4 and Switch ports in 2023 lacked any form of online play. It is a whole other game for Double Eleven to update and maintain though fans were still disappointed given the cost of a port for a game released in 2010.
The Red Dead multiplayer was truly fun and still to this day still has a dedicated player base with full lobbies on Xbox 360 and PS3. Now PC players who waited over 14 years to experience Red Dead Redemption can also enjoy some multiplayer in the game.
In terms of other Red Dead Redemption news, the sequel game was the most downloaded PS4 game last month. This is now five months in a row. Plus, both Red Dead games have seen their price rise in several regions. You can learn more about that here.
