Rockstar’s cowboy multiplayer open-world online title Red Dead Online continues to receive zero form of proper outlook on the future of the game, players patiently waited to hear about the next Winter update which is usually released around December every annual year. Oddly enough, there wasn’t any new content to offer players that following month, instead Rockstar Games decided to host a month-long event with loads of bonuses and discounts – players were furious but some hope remained for a better outlook in January, yet again Rockstar Games disappointments players with a Tweet addressed to fans with another month-long event with more bonuses – this eventually sparked fans, including myself, to create a Twitter hastag #SaveRedDeadOnline.
#SaveRedDeadOnline – What’s happening?
For those unaware, the last couple of years for Red Dead Online have been extremely rough. Their other online component GTA Online receive more support and much larger updates – last Summer, in 2021, Rockstar launched The Tuners update for GTA Online which shipped with tens of hours of content to enjoy, while Red Dead Online received a new update called Blood Money – which did not keep players too pleased, most of the Contract missions felt like recycled freeroam ones and the Capitale system was often frustrating for most players.
Most of the Red Dead Online community eagerly waited to hear about the forthcoming update, which as I’ve stated usually ships around December time. But there was nothing this time around, for the first-ever time. To a surprise, only GTA Online had content to offer which featured a storyline for Dr. Dre and Franklin Clinton along with his associates. But silence for Red Dead Online…
Most Red Dead Online fans on Twitter railed together with the hashtag #SaveRedDeadOnline, it even hit the Twitter trending tab for quite some time. Some shared their amazing stories with the game and why they would like Rockstar to continue to support it much broadly.
Will anything change? Let’s hope.
Thousands of people joined the hashtag and the community really wants Rockstar to do more. It is now a matter of time if Rockstar is really committed to delivering a great experience for this game with larger updates to keep this game much subtatinable.
Let’s just hope the the people in charge of Red Dead Online will see the feedback. This game truly has a lot of potential that remains untapped.

Rockstar has to want to fix RDR2 but sadly it seems they have no interest.
