Multiple politicians have put out accusations against Rockstar Games ahead of GTA 6’s release. The company creating Grand Theft Auto VI is facing legal proceedings over alleged union busting firings that took place last year. Back in December, Rockstar were accused of spreading disinformation about the situation.
In a new report by Eurogamer, various Scottish Labour MPs claim Rockstar are requesting Rockstar be transparent. The Independent Workers’ Union of Great Britain (IWGB) say Rockstar Games have “failed to cooperate with basic disclosure requests, refused to provide evidence in full and investigation reports, and denied workers their right of appeal”.
MP for Edinburgh East and Musselburgh, Chris Murray, said he has had “concerns with both the handling and motivation” from Rockstar.
“Constituents have lost their jobs, their income, with one constituent even forced to leave the country due to the removal of their visa sponsor. During a recent meeting with a constituent they explained Rockstar’s justification for their dismissal has varied throughout this process. Rockstar must answer this case with transparency and full cooperation and uphold the right to appeal.”

MP for Edinburgh North and Leith Tracy Gilbert called Rockstar’s actions “extremely disappointing” as they are not properly handling the ongoing legal process. According to Dr. Scott Arthur, MP for Edinburgh South West, Rockstar have not “cooperated fully or transparently in helping him understand what occurred” last year.
“When I visited Rockstar late last year alongside fellow MPs, my discussions with senior management emphasised their responsibility to treat staff in an open, fair, and transparent manner. Based on the account shared by my constituent, it appears that these principles are not being consistently upheld in practice.”

The legal process is going to continue to be long and drawn out. It will be quite some time before we get a result by jury trial. What do you think of the situation? Let us know down in the comments below.
