Rockstar Games have delivered a rare GTA Online Community update revealing the future of the game. In a Newswire article posted on Wednesday, the company expanded on some previously teased updates to the Community Series and gave some brand new information to the community.

Last week, select community pages were told by Rockstar that changes would be coming to GTA Online’s Community Series. Plus, a very rare reward would also be up for grabs. Now we know exactly what Rockstar have been planning.

Rockstar Games say that as of Thursday August 6th, there will be an all-new Community Race Series. That is the beginning of a new Event Week. This new playlist specifically is made for on the best tracks made by the community.

As for other job types, they will be part of the new Community Combat Series. This will cover Deathmatches, King of The Hills, Survivals, and beyond. These two Series will change over time with a rotation list of jobs.

Cars in a stunt race use nitrous to soar through fireworks over the city at night.

What’s happening with the original Community Series? Don’t worry, it has not gone forever. Rockstar say it will return during seasonal events and feature new and classic modes from the most talented GTA Online job creators in the community.

    New Reward

As part of this update, any player that has a job selected for the Community Series will receive the new and extremely rare R* Community Series Varsity Jacket.

Anyone who previously got a job featured in the Community Series has been retroactively awarded it too so no one misses out. If you have ever had a job featured, go to your clothing customisation options: Tops > Bomber Jackets > R* Community Series Varsity and equip it.

Rockstar also gave some tips to prospective creators including focusing on the fun factor and making it fun. Plus, try avoid copying another creator’s idea. Tagging your job with the hashtag #communityseries is also a good way to gain some attention.

What do you think about these changes to Community Series? Let us know down in the comments section below.
