Rockstar Games have released a new background update for GTA Online as part of the recent Event Week, Rockstar have made several background updates and a PC-only downloadable update in the weeks that have followed The Kortz Center Heist update
The company are continuing to respond to numerous issues which came as part of this summer’s GTA Online DLC. Where prior patches have been focused on addressing bugs impacting The Kortz Center Heist finale in particular, this one stops a number of cheating glitches and more.
Background updates from Rockstar fix issues without the need of downloading an update. It is all handled server side. This is a routine occurrence after a new GTA Online update so nothing out of the ordinary here.
Patch Notes

The recent background update patch notes for August 13th have been shared by dataminer Tex2:
- Fixed an issue that resulted in the “Help Tom Connors or English Dave with a DJ request” Career Progress challenge not being completed despite meeting the requirements
- Fixed an issue that resulted in players being unable to apply the Mansion Business Production Boost to a different business after the boost had expired
- Fixed an issue that resulted in Merryweather Buzzard Attack Choppers remaining at their spawn locations during the final wave of The Data Contract
- Patched the Kosatka Money Glitch
- Patched the Radio Money Glitch
- Patched the Casino Penthouse God Mode Glitch
